Basically, all I am working with are feathered selections and adjustment Layers.
Let's start with this original image:

I duplicated the layer and set the layer mode to multiply. The image gets darker but don't worry. In the next step, I created an adjustment layer for curves and I pushed up the dark parts in the curve of the RGB channel to give it that slightly faded feel:

I then did the same to the red channel only, in the same adjustment layer, to boost the reds in the entire image.
As a next step, I selected the upper part of the background and heavily feathered the selection, to get a very smooth edge. As the upper part of the background mainly consists of foliage and mossy stone, I created an adjustment layer for curves and pushed the green channel a bit:

If you've never worked with adjustment layers: It's important to know that you create the desired selection before you create the adjustment layer.
As the next step I roughly selected the lower part of the image and feathered heavily to give the dress a blue push in a new adjustment layer for curves:

I then created a new adjustment layer with no selection (i.e. for the entire image) and did a curve in the blue channel which bends downwards. This pushes the blues and adds some yellows into the picture.

I then added a new Fill layer, set to fill at 18% and filled with a greenish tone:

As the last step, I created an adjustment layer for hue/saturation and reduced the overall saturation slightly. And there you have it:

Here's the original again:

This is just a quick and rough tutorial to give you a basic idea about the methods used. If you would like to try, just use the same adjustment layers and fiddle around with them a bit until you get the results you like. There's no "right" or "wrong". It's just a matter of experimentation and personal taste.
I hope you've enjoyed the little tutorial.

If everything could ever feel this real forever,
If anything could ever be this good again,
The only thing I'll ever ask of you,
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when.
